weaver elected to indiana economic development association foundation board

Charles W. Weaver, Executive Director of the Starke County Economic Development Foundation (SCEDF) has been elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Indiana Economic Development Association Foundation, and in addition, will serve as Chair of the Scholarship Committee of the Foundation.The Board of Directors for the Foundation is made up of a cross-section of active members from various industry and economic development. The Foundation supports educational opportunities for economic developers to attend training and professional development.Additionally, the Foundation sponsors professional speakers and site selectors to present at various conferences throughout the year.

Weaver has served as Executive Director of SCEDF since August of 2005, after serving for several years on that Board, as its President, and as unpaid attorney for the organization dating back to its founding in 1985.In addition to his duties with SCEDF, Weaver serves on the Managing Board and Executive Committee of the Northwest Indiana Forum, and as Chair of the Forum’s Economic Development Committee.Weaver also serves on the Board of the Regional Development Company in Valparaiso.He has also been honored twice by the Society of Innovators of Northwest Indiana for projects involving SCEDF, and most recently spoke at the Society’s Pride & Pedestal event held in Hammond.
