The Indiana Historical Society announced this week that more than $2.5 million in Heritage Support Grant awards were given to more than 30 historical societies and organizations in the state.
Heritage Support Grants serve Indiana’s local, county and regional historical societies, museums and sites. According to officials, collections total more than 20 million historical objects and 424,000 linear feet of historical documents statewide.
The recipients of a mini Heritage Support Grant in Cycle A include the Starke County Historical Society in the amount of $4,312.50 to purchase a computer system and collections management software. The technology upgrades will enable the organization to increase access to its collections through more comprehensive cataloging.
