Starke County Airport Receives CARES Act Funding

The Starke County Airport, located northwest of Knox, has received notice that they are one of 65 Indiana airports that will receive funding from the recently-enacted CARES Act, passed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.  A total of $10 billion dollars was included for airports across the United States, with Indiana airports being earmarked for a total of $96 million.  Starke County Airport will receive $30,000 which can be used for capital expenditures, operating expenses, including payroll and utilities, as well as debt payments.  The goal of this portion of the Act was to support continuing operations and replace lost revenues as a result of COVID-19.
