National Unemployment Rate Drops in July

The unemployment rate for the United States fell to 3.9% in July, down slightly from the 4.0% registered in June.  During the month an additional 157,000 jobs were added, which was lower than the past several months and also lower than estimated by experts, who were looking for an additional 193,000 new jobs for the month.

Ron Gifford has worked for the Foundation as Special Projects Coordinator since 2008 after a law career of 32 years. In addition to his duties for the Foundation, Mr. Gifford serves as Director of the Starke County Initiative for Lifelong Learning (SCILL) and as a Business Advisor for the Indiana Small Business Development Center, serving businesses and entrepreneurs in both Starke and Pulaski Counties.
