The Indiana unemployment rate is at its lowest rate since November of 2000 after the release of the January rate this morning. For January, the rate is 3.1%, down from 3.2% in December, on the strength of an additional 8400 jobs being added in the month. The rate for Indiana is below that of the United States (3/6%) and is also lower than the contiguous states to Indiana as shown below:
Michigan 3.8% (down 0.1%)
Ohio 4.1% (no change)
Kentucky 4.3% (no change)
Illinois 3.5% (down 0.2%)
