Indiana Unemployment Rate Unchanged for April

Indiana Unemployment Rate Unchanged for April

The Indiana unemployment rate for the month of April remained unchanged at 3.6%, matching the reported national rate.  While there were an additional 1349 people in the labor force, job losses from March totaled 3600.

Indiana still continues a lower rate than any of its adjoining states, as Kentucky is at 4.0%, Michigan is at 4.1%, Ohio is at 4.3%, and Illinois is at 4.4%.

Ron Gifford has worked for the Foundation as Special Projects Coordinator since 2008 after a law career of 32 years. In addition to his duties for the Foundation, Mr. Gifford serves as Director of the Starke County Initiative for Lifelong Learning (SCILL) and as a Business Advisor for the Indiana Small Business Development Center, serving businesses and entrepreneurs in both Starke and Pulaski Counties.
