Indiana Unemployment Rate Dips Below U.S. Rate for July

Indiana's unemployment rate for the month of July was 7.8%, down from the June rate of 11.1%, and lower than the U.S. rate for July of 10.2%.  The labor force in the state showed a net decrease of 75,741 and the number of people employed rose by 40,500 over June.

Indiana continues to lead all contiguous states except for Kentucky with the lowest rate, followed by Michigan at 8.7%, Ohio at 8.9%, and Illinois at 11.3%.  Kentucky has a rate of 5.7% for July.
