The unemployment rate for the State of Indiana stands at 3.9% for the month of March, down from the February rate of 4.0%. The March rate leaves Indiana with the lowest rate among its four contiguous states, with Michigan at 5.1%, Kentucky at 5.0%, Ohio at 4.7%, and Illinois at 7.1%. The Indiana rate is also below the national rate for the month of 6.0%.
For the month, the labor force was down by 5,895, and private sector employment continues to be down by 84,000 during 2021.
