For the second straight month the unemployment rate in Starke County has risen, going from 5.5% in January to 5.8% in February, according to figures issued this morning by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.  A continued rise in the number of persons in the labor force appears to be the dominant trait causing this rate to go up, as in both months, the number in the labor force has been higher than the previous month, while the number of persons employed also rose.
