Hamlet West Water Tower Construction - September 2009.
This construction project included a new 200,000 gallon water tower, new well field, water treatment facility, and water mains which will conect the 320 acre site owned by Sysco Corporation's Baugh North Central Cooperative facility, as well as serve an additional 300+ acres now under the control of SCEDF to the Town of Hamlet, Indiana. The project also included a new sewer main connected to the Town of Hamlet's waste water treatment facility and the construction of a roadway entrance onto the SYSCO site from U.S. Highway 35. Financing for this project came from Starke County, Starke County Economic Development Foundation, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation's Industrial Development Grant Fund, the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration Grant Fund, the Starke County Economic Development Fund, and the issuance of Tax Incremental Financing Bonds. The Town of Hamlet will own and operate the infrastructure upon completion.
