The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has award a bid to Ellas Construction Company, Inc., of Gary, Indiana for the rehabilitation of a bridge on US 35 over the Yellow River, approximately 0.99 miles south of SR 8. Bids on this project were received on March 7, and at that time, 6 individual companies bid, with Ellas being the lowest at $803,101.46 on a project estimated to cost $825,000.

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has opened bids on a bridge rehabilitation project in Starke County. The bridge is one over the Yellow River approximately 0.99 mile south of State Road 8 on US 35. The apparent low bidder was Ellas Construction Company of Gary, Indiana. They bid a total of $803,101.46 against an engineer's estimate of $825,000. INDOT will review the bids before making any final award.
A total of 6 bids were received for this project, with a range of $803,101.46 up to $926,415.39. The second low bid in the amount of $815,582.56 was made by Pioneer Associates of Albion, Indiana.
